the end comes with relief and tears

Last night at 9:30pm, Feb 18, 2012, Roy's grandmother passed away after 93 years of life. The last several years she has slowly been going a little at a time. From small strokes to dementia, she has had a rough last couple of years of life. The very end began three months ago with she had a stroke and was put in full time care at a local nursing home. While in the nursing home she had good days and bad ones. A couple of weeks ago we believe she had a minor stroke and fell out of her wheel chair at the nursing home. Cutting her head and arm open she was taken to the emergency room. While there the doctors discovered that she had a very severe case of pneumonia. She had lost almost all mobility, couldn't eat or drink, and didn't even really know what was going on around her. There were days she remembered her family, and days she didn't at all. The end came after a long hard battle for her. The relief that came for her family that she is no longer in pain was followed by heartfelt tears of sadness. Please be in prayer for her daughter (Roy's mom) as now yet another challenge has presented itself. Getting everything set and ready to put her at rest. This is a very hard time for anyone to go through, and especially since this is the last of Deb's family except for her boys and husband. Thank you for your prayers!

Meg
