so its official! i'm grown up! lol! we got everything moved in Saturday and i've been unpacking and organizing since! its so very exciting living on my own (which technically isn't true because i do have a roommate)! Bethanna and i get along GREAT so far! she's precious! God was SOOO good to open that door! :)
update on my friend Whitney - i had a chance to just visit with her Sunday night. she's struggling...in a lot of ways! please please pray for her right now. she's working 2 jobs (both almost full time) and barely making enough to keep herself floating. her fiance (they've been engaged for four years now...and are no closer to getting married) lives in her apartment and doesn't pay for anything. he works a minimum wage job about 12 to 15 hours a week...and just kind of mooches off her. all this, and they are now facing parenthood! she's four months pregnant and excited! her fiance...not so much! after she ignored his initial request to abort, he started pushing for her to give the baby up for adoption. she's adament about keeping the baby...but he doesn't want it! pray that she would have wisdom...and me too! obviously, since i've never been in this situation, i have NO idea what kind of advice to give her! and despite the fact that i know this baby has been made in sin, its still a little baby (and i LOVE babies) that i want to be excited about! so how do i balance that? ugh! being grown up is so much work! lol! anyways...please be praying for me and my friend both! lots to process on both sides!
so back to my new home...i've still got decorating to do, and other random organization! here's a list of some of the stuff we've still got to get...
black couch slip-cover
coffee and end tables
metal cooking utensils
nice laundry hamper (for in front of the washer)
blender (for smoothies - Yum!)
some shelving
red curtains (living room)
crock pot
so those are just a few things, although i'm sure there are other i could think of! lol! hope you're having a great week!
much loves,
meg
Hey girl! We will definitely be praying for you in this! We too have struggled with how to react...Shane's 18 year old niece just had a baby and was not married...she is getting married Saturday to a different man. But we have tried to rejoice with her...it's still hard though to know when to say something and when to just listen!
ReplyDeleteI love the new place pictures! Can't wait to see it in person! And you and Joel should come for a visit!!! :-)
Many years ago, I decided that my initial reaction when hearing that ANYONE is pregnant would be, "Congratulations!" You see, I am the product of a teen mother who was married after she found out she was pregnant. My younger sister did the same thing. And now, my brother's fiancee is pregnant. No matter the circumstances of the conception, I still believe children are a blessing from the Lord. And women who find themseves pregnant before being married don't hear that very often. Just my two cents, for what it's worth.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice! And I agree Jennifer! I love babies and know that God IS in control! So He has a plan for this little one! I'll do what I can to help Whitney and pray that God uses this little one to bring its parents to Him!
